This is a website dedicated to the provision of patient information regarding commonly encountered abdominal surgical conditions experienced by young and old alike. These conditions are managed for the most part by a group of specialist doctors known as General Surgeons.
Sussex Surgical Specialists are a group of General Surgeons working throughout Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire who specialise in the investigation and treatment of such complaints using the most up to date and established techniques.
A specialist General Surgeon will deliver the care to treat a wide variety of conditions that cover three surgical subspecialties. These clinical speciality groups are those of Hernia, Colorectal and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery. Such a wide variety of problems may be dealt with routinely or more unusually as an emergency. They are largely conditions of the abdominal wall or its contents.
By clicking on the main menu options on the left you will be able to find the condition pertinent to your search and by following the links find all the information you need about the nature of your problem, its causes, suggested treatments (surgical or otherwise) and its outcomes. There are multimedia resources also available to help you better understand and manage your care.
There are also links to Laparoscopic Surgery, Endoscopy and Enhanced Recovery Programmes which have many applications across all aspects of General Surgical care.
